COVIRO – located in Cervia (RA), near Ravenna (ITALY), is an agricultural nursery company, founded in 1978, that produces and sells certified plants for fruit production sector.
Strawberry plants, asparagus crowns, fruit trees (pomaceous, drupaceous, actinidia, olive and grapes) and rootstocks are our nursery production.

As well as being highly professional at managing its own nurseries, for many years COVIRO has aimed at improving the quality of fruit-growing, by taking the right initiatives to reach all the objectives related to the improvement and certification of its nursery material (Virus-free, Virus-controlled and CAC Material).

Since 1987 COVIRO has been an accredited Multiplication Centre for voluntary national  strawberry and fruit trees certification programme. For this reason, aware of the importance of guaranteeing to its customers the best health state and the absolute genetic safety of nursery material, has created the Fields of Strawberry Mother Plants, for grafts and clonally rootstocks in co-operation and under the strict control of Emilia-Romagna region Plant Health Service.

Plants production is located in Emilia-Romagna region and, since 2003, was grow nurseries in Spain and Poland for fresh strawberry plants.

Since 2006, COVIRO, an associate of the C.A.V., has participated in a project for the certication of traceability in its production process.

Moreover, COVIRO co-operates with many national and international scientific Bodies and Institutions for the management of experimental fields in order to assess agronomic and trade characteristics of new varieties aiming at providing farmers with the latest discoveries.
It owns patents and various licences for the multiplication of protected species.
